A TYPICAL DAY IN NURSERY (2 YEAR OLDS)

Register 9.10am & 12.45pm
All children sit on the carpet to join in with register. Each time the children join in with the welcome song, singing the register, the days of the week song, the weather outside and the months of the year. During register time we also look at our sound table and also sing the alphabet.
Family Group Activity 9.25am & 2.30pm
The children split into three small family groups with their allocated key worker covering an area of the EYFS such as Personal, Social and Emotional development, Communication and Language, Physical Development, Literacy or Maths.



Continuous Provision 9.40am – 11.15am & 1.10pm – 2.45pm
All areas of both the indoor and outdoor learning environment are open for the children to explore throughout the session. Resources are freely available to the children and at all times the children have access to sand, water, sensory bowls, mud kitchen, slides and balance bikes plus many more… Throughout the morning we also have areas covering Expressive Arts and Design and Understanding the World.








Snack time – 10.25am & 1.30pm
The children all sit down together to enjoy a nutritious snack and all dietary needs are catered for. The children are offered a drink of milk or water with snack and throughout the day water bottles are available for the children.

Large Group Time 11.15am & 1.00pm
Large group time activities take place and all children and staff participate in these. Large group time activities consist of music and movement, singing, dough disco, parachute games, exploring the wild garden and musical instruments plus many more.

Lunch Time 11.30 am/ Sleep Time
Children who attend a full day session are asked to provide a healthy packed lunch to enjoy together and the younger children have access to a sleeping area to have a rest throughout the day.


Home time 11.45am & 3.00pm
All children are encouraged to gain independence by putting on their own coats at the end of the session and sit nicely as we wait for our mummies and daddies to arrive.
